Range - Expand

Native or Not Present

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

This species' native range extends well into Mexico, but we have yet to build this portion of the map.

Some authorities treat Acmella repens as its own species whereas others treat it as a variety of Acmella oppositifolia. When the taxa are lumped together, only one variety of the broader taxon is found in the US, but farther south they are not interchangeable. In South and Central America the term A. oppositifolia can also refer to Heliopsis buphthalmoides, which does not occur in the US.
