Native or Expanded

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is agreed-upon to be native to Florida and extirpated from Louisiana along the Gulf Coast. BONAP reports it as Adventive along the southern end of the Texas gulf coast, extending farther northeast than FSUS shows. FSUS reports it as native but only restricted to the southernmost Texas. We have not yet resolved this uncertainty so our map shows the inconsistency. This species is also native to Mexico, but we have yet to build this portion of its map.
