Lanceleaf Moonpod (Acleisanthes lanceolata (Wooton) R.A.Levin)
Also known as gypsum moonpod; also classified as Selinocarpus lanceolatus Wooton, Selinocarpus maloneanus B.L. Turner, Selinocarpus maloneanus B.L.Turner.
We have merged gypsum moonpod, Selinocarpus maloneanus, into this species, per the treatments of BONAP and POWO. USDA considers them separate. POWO identifies Selinocarpus maloneanus with var. lanceolata of this species, whereas POWO does not recognize any varities of this species. USDA reported that species only as occurring in one county, where this species also occurs, so the range of this species is unaffected by this merge.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is also native to northern Mexico, but we have yet to build this portion of its range map.
