This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is native to Mexico. USDA PLANTS and BONAP report it as native to Texas but without reporting any specific county records. We were unable to find any records not only in Texas, but anywhere near the US border. There is also much more of the mountainous terrain this species usually occurs in on the Mexican side of the border, so we tentatively report that this species probably does not occur in the US.
