This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is native to the Mediterranean; it is widely cultivated in gardens and occasionally escapes, but rarely persists. Some populations have been recorded persisting for some time but then died out. BONAP shows a record in Laramie county, Wyoming, but we could not find specifics on this record. We also could not find specifics on the Maine records.
