Bengal Trumpet (Thunbergia laurifolia Lindl.)
Also classified as Thunbergia grandiflora Roxb.
POWO considers T. laurifolia and T. grandiflora synonyms; however they report a much smaller range globally than makes sense for this species. We have not yet examined this discrepancy to find if there are any populations they exclude which other sources consider to be part of the populations described by one or both of these names.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species has also been introduced in Mexico, but we have yet to build this portion of its range map.
↑Habitat
This species has become highly invasive in Australia and in the wet parts of the tropics. In these regions it tends to occur on disturbed sites along rivers and streams. In the U.S. it is limited to Florida and has not yet become quite as aggressive as in other countries, but there may be a risk of it becoming invasive, especially in the warmer parts of Florida.
