Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is native to Mexico, but is widely distributed as an ornamental flower; it is occasionally planted in the ground but rarely survives north of its native range. It has established in the wild at several locations along the California coast. We have yet to build the portion of its map in Mexico.
