Canary Island Ivy (Hedera canariensis Willd.)
Also known as Canary ivy, Madeira ivy; also classified as Hedera helix var. canariensis (Willd.) DC., Hedera helix subsp. canariensis (Willd.) Cout.
Many authorities, including USDA PLANTS, consider this species to be a variety or subspecies of english ivy (Hedera helix). We follow the convention of POWO, BONAP, and Calflora, which treat it as its own species.

This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
POWO reports this species as introduced in Florida; FL Plant Atlas shows several records matching Hedera canariensis but they are labeled var. maculata, var. variegata, or f. variegata, all of which belong to Hedera algeriensis and not this species, under POWO's treatment.
