San Rafael Prickly-Poppy (Argemone parva (S.L.Welsh) N.H.Holmgren & P.K.Holmgren)
This taxon was first described in 2003 as a variety of mojave pricklypoppy (Argemone corymbosa), var. parva. It was proposed to be split into its own species in 2010, a treatment that is accepted by POWO and BONAP; we follow this treatment.

This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 4 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
We found an unreliable self-published blog, which may be AI-generated, which said this plant also was native to Mexico but we found no reliable sources making such claim. POWO does not list it as occurring there, and we found no specimens or records from there, indeed, none from outside a small portion of Utah along the Colorado river.
