Range - Expand

Native or Not Present

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

This is a small, weedy plant that has been found on a few sites east of its native range, including in pastures and other agricultural land, and a mining site. We found no evidence that it has been cultivated or intentionally planted in modern times. We mark it expanded in the new portions of its range because it is spreading on its own and taking advantage of new habitat, but it remains rare and scattered east of its native range.
