Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species has been widely cultivated and escaped. It has become an invasive species in California; in the southeast it has widely naturalized. We mark southeastern populations as expanded because they are separated from the native population by smaller gaps. We mark the California populations, as well as those in St. Louis and Philadelphia, as introduced because they are separated from the native range by large distances. This species is also native to northeast Mexico, but we have yet to build this portion of its range map.
