↑Summary
An aromatic perennial, the familiar garden herb thyme; established in the wild at a few sites in the northeast.
↑Habitat
Occasionally found in meadows and fields, where it can survive mowing and deer browsing. Favors areas where a combination of thin, dry, and/or rocky soil inhibits the growth of other plants. Usually found in anthropogenic habitats.
↑Uses
This species is widely cultivated as an herb. It is slightly less-frequently used as a groundcover.
