Bog Yelloweyed Grass (Xyris difformis Chapm.)

Also classified as Xyris curtissii (= Xyris difformis var. curtissii).

Some authorities, including BONAP, separate some populations into the species Xyris curtissii. We use POWO's treatment, which most authorities follow, treating those populations as Xyris difformis var. curtissii, and the rest as var. difformis. The only implication for the range map is that our map with the merged populations shows this species extending into the Southern Florida Coastal Plain.
