Native or Introduced

This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

Although the northeasternmost populations are only separated from the native range by a short distance, we marked them as "introduced" because they likely originated as garden escapes, because this plant becomes progressively rarer towards the norteasternmost borders of its native range, and we see no evidence that it is expanding or poised to fill in this gap. However this choice was a subjective judgment call and this plant could probably be treated as "expanded" due to the proximity to the native range and the fact that gaps of similar distance exist within the native range.
