Pacific Swampfire (Salicornia pacifica Standl.)

Also classified as Sarcocornia pacifica (Standl.) A.J. Scott.

Some populations of this species are reported by the USDA as perennial glasswort (Salicornia perennis), a species now thought to not occur anywhere in North America. We have found numerous sources derived from the USDA and/or other sources with such misidentifications, so be mindful that populations of this species can sometimes be referred to under that name.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
