USDA PLANTS lumps cliff pseudosaxifrage (Micranthes fragosa) in with this species, calling both varieties of Saxifraga nidifica. We follow the conventions of most modern authorities including BONAP, POWO, and FNA, separating them and classifying both in the Micranthes genus.
