Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This grape-like plant spreads by bird-distributed seeds. Because it looks similar to other plants, including the introduced porcelain-berry, it is probably under-reported. We marked new populations in the northeast as expanded because of proximity to its native range, and the west coast population as introduced because of its isolation.
