Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is used as a turfgrass in some regions, and also used as a forage crop. As a result it has established in new areas. We marked most of these introductions because they are the result of plantings and are separated by large distances and we see no evidence that this species is filling in gaps in its range. However, some of these populations could probably be classified as expansions too given that they are not that far from its native range.
