Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species has spread eastward in part due to colonizing open, anthropogenic habitats east of its native range, including lawns. It is scattered and rare in the new portions of its range; we mark it expanded even though its populations are separated by large distances, because it seems to be spreading on its own, and fits a pattern of being more widespread directly adjacent to its native range and scattered farther from it.
