Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is widely cultivated in gardens, and frequently escapes into the wild. It has established scattered populations east of its native range, and also established in California. We mark eastern populations expanded whereas the California population we mark introduced because it is separated by geographic divides of mountain and desert in which this plant probbaly could not survive. However, it could perhaps be marked expanded as well as the distances are not long and this plant shows a clear pattern of expansion across its whole range.
