The exact extent of this species native range in North America is not known, but it is widely agreed to be expanding. In some localities it is considered invasive. We marked it expanded rather than introduced, including in areas where it has skipped over long distances, because it is a weedy species that seems to be spreading without deliberate planting by humans, and because it seems to be consistently expanding northwards.
