This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 4 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is native to Japan, is widely planted as an ornamental, and has escaped and established in many countries globally. In the US it has established in the wild in WA and OR, mostly very near the Pacific Coast. It has also established in southern Mexico, but we have yet to build this portion of its map.
