Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is native to California but has also been widely planted in gardens and has escaped into the wild, where it is considered an invasive species in some areas. Our map is tentative and does not yet distinguish between this plant's status in different parts of California, but we note it expanded in the northwest as it is not native to these regions, but this area is adjacent to its native range.
