This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is widely agreed to be native to the Southwestern US and Mexico; BONAP considers it also native north to Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana whereas POWO considers it introduced there. Although there is somewhat of a gap between is range in the West and the East, with it being mostly absent from the Great Plains, there are enough scattered reports throughout this region for us to consider this species Expanded rather than Introduced in the East, although this choice was a bit of a subjective judgment call. The greyed out areas in the Southeast reflect that FSUS reports these populations as waifs, meaning they have not formed sustaining wild populations. This species is also Native to Mexico and introduced in Canada, although we have yet to build these portions of its map.
