Native or Expanded

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

This species is sometimes used outside in soil stabilization projects, including on mine spoils, and also as an ornamental. We marked West Virginia populations as expansions because they are near its native range, but the New Mexico population an introduction because of its isolation. Both populations could probably be marked introductions.
