Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is sometimes used outside in soil stabilization projects, including on mine spoils, and also as an ornamental. We marked West Virginia populations as expansions because they are near its native range, but the New Mexico population an introduction because of its isolation. Both populations could probably be marked introductions.
