Grassy Arrowhead (Sagittaria graminea Michx.)
Also known as grass-leaved arrowhead.
Certain populations in the southeastern coastal plain, originally thought to belong to this species, have been separated by most modern authorities as Weatherby's arrowhead (Sagittaria weatherbiana); some authorities recognized these as a subspecies at least for some time. Some older sources including USDA PLANTS, however, treat those populations as part of this species and do not even recognize any subspecies. We follow POWO's treatment.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species also occurs in Canada; POWO reports it as introduced in Newfoundland but native to the mainland; we have yet to build this portion of its map.
