Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is native to the Great Plains but has established new, scattered populations farther east. We mark it as Expanded even though these populations are scattered and isolated, because this plant is spreading primarily along roadsides and in disturbed areas, and the eastern edge of its native range also consists of scattered populations. This species is also native to Mexico, but we have yet to build this portion of its map.
