Native or Expanded

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

This grape-like plant spreads by bird-distributed seeds. Because it looks similar to other plants, including the introduced porcelain-berry, it is probably under-reported. We marked new populations in the northeast as expanded because of proximity to its native range, and the west coast population as introduced because of its isolation.
