Range - Expand

Native or Expanded
Expanded or Not Present

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

This species has expanded northward from its native range in Florida and Mexico; it likely benefits from its resistance to browsing in pastureland. We marked its new range as expanded even though it consists of many scattered populations, because it is largely spreading on its own, and has established fairly consistently across wide regions of eastern North America.
