This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
↑Notes
We consider this species Introduced rather than Expanded, even though it is becoming established in areas relatively close to its native range, for several reasons: it is widely cultivated in gardens and is spreading largely due to garden escapes. It is also uncommon and not increasing, in the wild populations at the edge of its native range, and some of these populations have even been extirpated. Some of the newly-established populations are also separated from its native range by large distances.
