Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is uncommonly cultivated in gardens, but it readily escapes when cultivated. It is a weedy plant that thrives in disturbed habitats, includinng roadsides and cultivated land, especially in no-till agriculture. It has established a few new populations slightly north of its native range, which we mark as expanded.
