Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
BONAP reports this species as adventive in West Virginia, so we marked it as expanded as it is near the native range. It is occasionally planted in gardens, and can survive along roadsides in sandy and/or rocky soil, and both of these factors help it to establish in new areas.
