Diamond-flowers (Stenaria nigricans (Lam.) Terrell)

Also classified as Houstonia nigricans (Lam.) Fernald.

Four varieties of this species are often recognized: var. breviflora, var. floridana, var. gypsophila, and var. nigricans. Some authorities do not list var. breviflora, which was only described in 2001 and is limited to Mexico.
