Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This is a weedy grass that thrives in disturbed ground, including cropland and roadsides. It has expanded east and north into new habitats created by humans, contiguously with its native range. The Arizona population we mark introduced because it is separated from the rest of the range by a large distance. There are also isolated introduced populations in Mexico not yet reflected on our map.
