Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This plant is widely planted in gardens, and can occasionally escape cultivation. As a result it has established north of its native range at scattered sites. We mark it expanded because the new populations are relatively contiguous with the native range, separated only by small distances, and the expansion is relatively consistent across its range.
