American Red Raspberry (Rubus strigosus Michx.)
Also known as grayleaf red raspberry; also classified as Rubus idaeus ssp. strigosus.
Many authorities lump this taxon in with the European red raspberry (Rubus idaeus) under the name of that species, treating the two taxon as subspecies, this as Rubus idaeus ssp. strigosus and the European taxon as Rubus idaeus ssp. idaeus. We treat them as separate species.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is also widely native across Canada, and also native to Mexico; we have yet to build these portions of its range map.
