This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
This species is native to Mexico and the southern US, north into the Great Plains; it has expanded its range northward both east and west of its native range. We mark the entire new range Expanded because there is a clear pattern of increase concentrated mostly adjacent to the native range, with scattered populations farther north. We have yet to build the portion of its range map in Mexico.
