Sawtooth Oak (Quercus acutissima Carruthers)

A somewhat atypical-looking oak, this tree is named for its leaves with regularly-toothed leaves. It also has a distinctive acorn with a wide cap covered in coarse, curvy bristles. Native to East Asia, this plant has been widely planted as a street tree and landscaping plant in North America, and has become established in the wild in numerous scattered locations.
