Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is widely cultivated in gardens and frequently escapes; it is somewhat weedy and readily colonizes roadsides and abandoned fields. As a result it has established continent-wide; because these populations are widespread and tend to be separated at most by short distances, we have marked it expanded in the entirety of its new range.
