Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is widely cultivated in gardens, and as a result has established in the wild at scattered sites north of its native range. We mark these populations expanded because of their proximity to its native range, but they could easily be considered introduced as well because they originated as garden escapes and this species does not seem to be expanding much from native populations.
