Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is weedy and has a strong potential to become an invasive plant in new areas. It has expanded both northwest into California and northeast in New England; we mark these populations expanded rather than introduced, even if humans helped it establish, because the new range is contiguous with its native range.
