Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is occasionally cultivated in gardens, less commonly than some other Thalictrum species. It can escape into wild areas, and it being somewhat of a habitat generalist has facilitated its establishment on a few sites east of its native range. We mark these populations expanded because they are isolated only by short distances, not much larger than the gaps in this plant's native range.
