Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This is a low-growing weedy plant that thrives in urban areas, where it grows readily in cracks in asphalt or concrete. It can also be found in drier portions of pastures. Its ability to thrive in anthropogenic habitats has led it to colonize areas far east from its native range. We mark the new portions of the range expanded because it is spreading on its own and shows a clear pattern of expansion across the entire north-south border of its range. It may also be underreported as it is not a plant most people pay attention to.
