Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This plant is widely planted in gardens, and the northeasternmost part of its range is thought to have established from garden escapes, while also taking advantage of anthropogenic habitats. We mark this portion of its range expanded because it is directly adjacent to this species' native range.
