This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
This species is native to the Western to Central US, Canada, and Mexico, but has expanded its range eastward; it is also found in Canada, Alaska, and Mexico but we have yet to build these portions of its map. We do not know the exact extent of its original range and for now use the scheme reported on Go Botany, treating it as native to TX, AR, MO, IA, MN, Manitoba, and westward.
