Zigzag goldenrod (Solidago flexicaulis L.)
Also known as broad-leaved goldenrod.
↑Summary
A somewhat atypical goldenrod, with broader leaves, and preferring shaded habitats. Unlike most Solidago sp., blooms off leaf axils in addition to at the end of each stem. The name refers to the fact that the upper stems often angle back and forth in a zig-zag pattern between the leaves.

Shaded, but not densely shaded areas, in woodland. Prefers slopes, especially sheltered locations on east- and north-facing slopes.
