Expanded or Not Present

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

This species is also native to southern Mexico; we have yet to build the portion of its range map in Mexico. The population in Delaware originated as garden escapes; although it could be marked as introduced, we mark it as expanded because it is close to the native range and this species is vigorous both at the edge of its range and in the new populations.
