This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

This species is occasionally planted in gardens and can escape into the wild; it also can grow along railroads, especially where there is abundant gravel. It has established in numerous isolated populations east of its native range; we mark these as expanded because, for the most part, they are not far from its native range, and because there is a clear pattern of multiple establishments, with more happening closer to its native range.
