Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
BONAP notes the Massachussets population as adventive, reflecting introduction to a new area. We mark it expanded due to proximity to this species' native range, but note that this is an uncommon species that is largely restricted to intact woodlands and not appreciably spreading in most regions.
