Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is locally endangered in parts of its range, but it is also sometimes planted in gardens, and can escape. We mark the Montana population an introduction because of its relative isolation, and the Maine population an expansion because it is more contiguous to native populations.
